NG Soundstream Download Page

Here's the download link for the NG Soundstream:

NG Soundstream Application (Right-Click and Save As)

I tried submitting it to the NG Portal, but quicky found out that most of the functions don't work when using it from a remote server due to inherent security issues, so now only the downloadable version is available. Hopefully this can be used to make the audio portal more enjoyable for people.

PM me (Tiredguy at Newgrounds.com) if you find any bugs. See below for more info on what this app is all about.

This app picks up where NGAP radio left off.

I don't know about y'all, but I really loved the NGAP radio app when it first came out because it let you listen to a constant stream of music from the audio portal. But after a few days, I soon realized that it offered no way to filter out all the crappy music, and no way to choose what kinds of music I wanted to listen to, so I quickly lost interest.

I wanted something that would give me as much control as most of the other internet radio stations. Well after months (maybe even years) of sitting on my ass, I finally did something about it.

It's simple, extremely lightweight, offers a lot of options, and even has a cool background and a couple of entertaining animations. No button sounds will distract you from your music experience. No color-changing gadgets or confusing knobs to befuddle you. All playlists are updated in real time, so you'll always enjoy exploring. Choose from 30 different genres, or list according to author, best score, or even shuffle through the most recent submissions.

Tips:
-Clicking the arrow at the bottom of the toolbar on the right will expand that toolbar into a "Now Playing" menu.
-Clicking the "X" buttons on the songs/artist names will delete them from that menu.
-You can view/listen to all the works of any author you choose by clicking on Authors, and entering their NG username (be sure to spell it correctly) in the approprate box.
-And for the totally out-of-it: remember you have to choose something to listen to before it will play anything!

p.s. Please don't ask me how I scripted this. I'm really tired, and would rather not have to bother with that kind of stuff. Thanks. If you find any bugs, please let me know and I'll fix them as soon as I can, but I'm pretty sure I squashed most of them, and please be patient with the loading times- this is the internet, after all.

Enjoy!
